What's the story of the pickle in your Christmas tree? I am so fascinated by this. I had always heard it was a German tradition. "Hide a pickle in your tree. First one to find it on Xmas morning, gets the first gift. " While in the store one day a German tourist couple saw the pickle and questioned it. Turns out these Germans knew nothing of this "tradition." So I went into the internet! Turns out the story is a lie! Made up when a department store received too many pickles in an order of fruit and veggie ornaments! American lies. Love it. Happy Holidays!
